The History Of The Showdown

In 2019, the Massachusetts High School Hockey Showdown (formerly "Showcase") was founded through the work of numerous high school and NCAA coaches. The hope was to help push an extremely overlooked talent pool of players from the MIAA in front of the eyes of both NCAA D1, junior and D3 coaches.

The Massachusetts High School Hockey Showdown also hoped to highlight the talent, competitiveness, and tradition of high school hockey across the state. Massachusetts has one of the richest high school hockey histories in the country, with generations of players competing for their schools, communities, and state championships. As the hockey landscape continues to evolve, this showcase gives high school players a focused opportunity to compete, gain exposure, and represent the strength of Massachusetts high school hockey.

Since its creation, the Showdown has been extremely successful in moving players onto the next level of their hockey careers, with Numerous alumni now competing in leagues like the ECHL, Hockey East, NCAA D1 independent, NESCAC, NE10, and many more.
